To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the launch of the STS-102 mission to the International Space Station, NASA mission specialist and Dunmore native Paul Richards will visit the Everhart Museum in Scranton on March 8 for two events: a meet-and-greet and a VIP event and presentation.

The day begins with a public meet-and-greet with Richards, included with general museum admission, from 1 to 3 p.m. No registration is necessary for this portion of the day.

This is followed by a catered VIP event and presentation from 6 to 8 p.m., for which registration is required. During the VIP portion, Richards will discuss the mission and his contributions to the International Space Station, as well as aspects of Everhart’s current exhibition, Hubble Space Telescope: New Views of the Universe. The VIP portion includes light fare and a bar with beer and wine; the first two drinks are complimentary.

“Paul Richards is a shining local example of where determination and ambition can lead someone,” Everhart Museum Curator James Lansing said. “Only 33o Americans have flown into space, and only 370 Americans have become NASA astronauts. Paul Richards is one of a very select company, and it’s an honor to have him join us at the Everhart.”

More information and registration are available at everhart-museum.org.
