If you’ve lived in Idaho long enough, you’re aware that the local media more than frequently reports on alleged unidentified aerial phenomena over the Gem State. I’ve personally written dozens of times on the subject matter since moving to Idaho in 2016.
The majority of these reported sightings we share publicly come through incident reports published by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). These folks from Washington State have been investigating and releasing information publicly on UAP reports for over 50 years. The agency has logged more than 200,000 reports since 1974, according to the website.

Boise Is The Number One City In Idaho For UAP Incident Reports Through The NUFORC

1. According to the NUFORC reports page for Idaho, Boise gets the largest number of incident reports annually. The most recent Boise incident report was published on February 2, 2026, and described a fast-moving, light-colored, circular object.
2. Idaho’s city with the next largest number of annual UAP sightings is Idaho Falls. The latest incident report from the NUFORC for the city was published on September 25, 2025. The solo witness in this incident described a rectangular object moving at a very low elevation.

3. The next Gem State city with the most frequent reports is Meridian, located 12 miles west of Boise. A southwest Idaho witness contacted the center on June 17, 2025, over a dark, disc-shaped object hovering over a farmer’s field.
4. The Idaho city with the fourth highest number of annual UAP reports to the NUFORC is Lewiston, located in the northwest. The last incident was reported on June 4, 2025, and involved a large white light flashing in front of a married couple walking their dogs at night.
