UFO Over Iran, 1976 – Possible Photograph?

My passion led me to create a YouTube channel dedicated to worldwide ufology, where I research cases, analyze reports, and share with the public some of the most intriguing events ever recorded. To produce my episodes, I rely not only on my own investigation but also on artificial intelligence tools to help structure information and present it in a clear and engaging way.

One of the episodes that impacted me the most was the investigation of a sighting that occurred in 1976 in Iran, near Tehran, which stood out due to the credibility of the witnesses and the unusual consequences reported. According to the documents and testimonies I studied, an unidentified flying object was observed over the region and was eventually involved in a pursuit with an Iranian military pilot. During this encounter, the object reportedly interfered with the aircraft’s electronic systems, causing instrument failures and disruptions, and even affecting electrical systems on the ground. This happened during a time when relations between the United States and Iran were still cooperative, adding an important historical context to the case.

As I continued my research, I discovered something even more extraordinary: the same object was reportedly observed later crossing the Mediterranean Sea, moving westward. Reports from observers in Egypt described a strange aerial object traveling in a trajectory consistent with a path toward Portugal.

Being Portuguese myself, this discovery immediately captured my attention. I decided to search Portuguese sighting databases and archives for any reports that matched the exact same date and night as the Iranian and Mediterranean sightings.

To my astonishment, I found a documented case — on the same day, and during the same night. An unidentified object had allegedly been photographed after landing in a wooded area in northern Portugal. The photographs show an unexplained object, and the timing and location closely align with the reports from Iran and the Mediterranean trajectory.

This raises a question that lies at the heart of UFO investigation: was this merely a coincidence, or could this be the same object that appeared over Iran that night in 1976 and later traveled across the Mediterranean toward Portugal?
