Pupils explored the wonders of space through two interactive workshops.
Year 8 and 9 students at Pool Academy took part in space science sessions led by the National Space Centre, delving into the science and physics of space through practical activities.
Nick Ward, principal at Pool Academy, said: “Seeing our students so excited and curious during these workshops was a joy.
“Experiences like these give our students a real sense of what’s possible beyond the classroom.
“We are so grateful to the National Space Centre for helping bring learning to life and giving our pupils experiences they won’t forget.”
The hands-on sessions allowed pupils to see how classroom learning connects to real-world applications and STEM careers, while also offering first-hand experience with experts.
The workshops were closely linked to the school’s science curriculum, helping students understand key concepts, build curiosity, and relate science to daily life and future job opportunities.
They also supported Pool Academy’s careers programme by introducing students to different industries, informing their future choices and developing practical skills.
Pool Academy is part of the Athena Learning Trust.
