USA Today has decided that President Obama was “joking” about aliens being real. Really? What was the punchline? Was he joking here when he said “I’m actually being serious here” that footage and records exist of UFOs that move in ways that are not explainable?

I saw a post on a new sub this morning where the top comment was essentially explaining that “what Obama really meant was that the universe was so massive and that ET life was statistically near certain..”. There’s a lot of parties stuffing intent and context into what Obama said

Misleading karma farming title using 2 different interviews.
He was clearly joking and laughing about “Aliens and Area 51 conspiracies” in the Feb 14th interview, as that was the question.
In the previous one he’s talking about UFO/UAP being real and unexplainable.. Which is technically true, but as we’ve seen is often due to footage and data just being too poor to analyze properly. And when people finally do some decent analysis, ya’ll don’t believe it anyway.

A sub that is specifically about UFOs and the unknown and when the former President of the United States says, with no indication that he was joking and even relating it specifically to where people suspect they are on Planet Earth, half of the comments are supposedly people completely convinced he was kidding, nothing to see here. I’ve never seen it displayed more obviously that this topic on reddit is being manipulated and used to spread disinformation

Truthfully I like Obama, but wasn’t waiting on him to tell me anything that I’ve known for 20+ years now on my own. No disrespect to him, but I wouldn’t have cared if he said the opposite, that wouldn’t have changed anything for me on it regardless… and I definitely don’t care what the media says or how they go about twisting it.
Likewise, I don’t at all care for the orange dude… but nothing he will ever have to say will change the way I feel and know on this topic.
Things are what they are. No president or influencer of any kind should dictate how anyone feels about anything. If you have reality on anything at all, this topic or any topic… then that’s your reality and it really doesn’t matter what anyone says or feels about it.

I don’t think this was meant to be true confirmation, but an attempt to keep the conversation going to eventually get transparency.
I think he very intentionally tried to imply this is out of the hands of congress and the president.
