On September 27, 2025 around 9:25 PM, I recorded a bright orb in the night sky that remained completely stationary for over 10 minutes. During that time, two additional lights briefly appeared near it, forming what looked like a faint triangular shape before fading out.

My son was with me, and you can hear his reaction in the recording when the additional lights appear.

I’ve captured similar stationary orbs on other nights, but this was the first time I observed a formation pattern change like that.

Important context: I did briefly use a green laser pointer while observing. I later realized it may have been more powerful than legally allowed. I did not intend to interfere with any aircraft, and there were no visible aircraft in the immediate area at the time.

I’ve already reported the sighting to:

  • Local police
  • Michigan State Police
  • Homeland Security tip line
  • NUFORC

I’m posting the video here for feedback and analysis. I’m open to conventional explanations — satellites, drones, optical effects, etc. I’m just trying to document what I observed and compare notes.

Let me know your thoughts.

P.S this version of the video was 'cleaned up' by DukeonDemand on X.

  1. I have a original screenshot from the moment it ‘responds’ for a formation of 3 lights with a black triangle behind it.

  2. >I did not intend to interfere with any aircraft

Whether or not you intended to shoot someone in the head when you pointed a rifle at them only runs the difference between manslaughter and murder, you’re still going to prison. It is a federal offence and between federal, state and local prosecution, there’s $11,000-$250,000 in fines and 5-20 years in prison.

Don’t even fuck around. I’m glad at least the NJDrones sub made a rule against even suggesting pointing lasers at suspected sightings. Because what if you’re wrong and there IS a visible aircraft in the area, you just didn’t realize that’s what you were pointing at.
