POV: AFTERMATH OF AN ERUPTING STAR ![]()
NASA gave netizens a clear glimpse into the major outburst of a dull star called V838 Monocerotis in 2002.
“V838 Mon, the red spark in the middle, has long since faded back, but its eerie light show is helping scientists understand how stars evolve across our universe,” the space agency wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday.
The celestial body was located about 20,000 light-years from Earth, according to NASA. (Instagram/NASA)
