LAVAL, QC. – The Laval Rocket made their return to Place Bell on Wednesday night, cruising to a 6–2 victory over the Utica Comets, in a game that was effectively decided early.
Laval set the tone right away, with Laurent Dauphin scoring at 3:50 of the first period. This set the tone as the Rocket hit the net three more times in the opening period. The Rocket dictated the pace from there, controlling possession and forcing the Comets to chase the game, including back to back fights to get the crowd pumping.
The lead continued to grow in the second period, with Laval extending the margin to five before Utica finally found a response. By then, the damage was done. The Rocket stayed structured defensively, limited chances against, and leaned on steady goaltending from Jacob Fowler to keep the Comets from building any real momentum.
