The retail giant issued an urgent product recall of the Gingerbread Serveboard and Gingerbread Nibble Bowl as the enamel layer may crack and chip during use.
Safety chiefs warn this may result in small pieces of the material being swallowed, which could cause injuries.
As the products fail to meet Next’s ‘strict, technical specifications’, shoppers are being urged by both the Office for Product Safety and Standards and the retailer to return the items for a refund.

Those who received them as a gift are advised to ask the recipient to contact Next as soon as possible.
A Next spokesperson said: “We have identified a problem with the above item.
“Unfortunately, it has come to light that there is a potential problem with the product’s enamel layer that can crack or chip during use.
“This creates a risk that a customer might accidentally swallow small pieces of the material, which could cause injury.
“As the Gingerbread Serveboard does not meet our strict, technical specifications, we have taken the precaution of recalling them, and request that you return your Gingerbread Serveboard to us immediately for a full refund.
“To arrange a collection please call us on 0333 777 8000 and choose option 1. Call Selfserve on 0800 587 7758 , input your Selfserve number and select option 3, or sign into ‘My Account’ and select ‘Arrange a return’ from the menu. Alternatively, please return the item to a store for a full refund.
“If you have given this item as a gift then please ask the recipient to contact Next as soon as possible.
“We are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience this may cause.
In regards to the Gingerbread Nibble Bowl a Next spokesperson said: “We have identified a problem with the above item.
