NASA has plans to launch four astronauts on a ten-day mission around the far side of the moon this month. 

The flight of Artemis II will be NASA’s first human mission to the moon since Apollo 17, 53 years ago.  

The mission is to test whether the rocket, life-support systems and crew controls work as designed.

The artemins two will splashdown off the coast in San Diego.

Last month a four-person crew from NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission to the International Space Station safely splashed down into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego County. NASA announced the crew would be leaving the International Space Station about one month earlier than originally planned due to a medical concern for a crew member
