Starting the countdown to how long before this conversation turns into a low-information mud slinging fest and the Mods nuke the whole thing.

  2. How do they actively shut it down? Can they geolocate with such precision, that terminals are shut down on a per-terminal basis? And can’t Russia just launch them very close to Ukraines border then? And how does it affect the ones Ukraine uses?

  3. Let’s not pretend Musk isn’t being blackmailed by Putin just like Trump…they can pretend whenever they want but we know who makes the real decisions behind the scenes

  4. They should put in place a special 2FA system for Ukraine so even if the russians can get new dishes, they can’t make it work.

This has been an issue for years now, and many attempts have been made to lock the Russians out from using stolen or scavenged terminals. A hard cut-off and gradual whitelist type approach was always on the cards even two years ago, but posed lots of problems for Ukraine as well. So naturally it was tabled. Looks like they’re ready now for that kind of soft reset.
