Thursday was a two-win night for the Greenville Lady Comets basketball program.

Playing at home, the varsity Lady Comets posted a 36-28 win over North Mac.

The score was tied after one quarter, and GHS led by three at halftime.  The lead reached six points by the end of the third.  Making a few important free throws down the stretch, the Lady Comets were in front by nine, then settled for an eight point victory.

Leading the scoring list was Haylee Clark with 12 points.  Peyton White, Emma Veith and Ella Kleiner added six apiece.

The win gives the GHS varsity squad a 2-4 South Central Conference record and a 5-19 overall mark.  The team hosts Sandoval at 1 p.m. Saturday and the game will be broadcast on WGEL.

In junior varsity action, the Lady Comets’ squad  won 31-29 over North Mac.  Trinley Cale poured in 18 points for the winners.
