Penni L Pigecella went through heaven’s gate surrounded by all those who loved her on December 31, 2025, at 5:44 a.m., due to health problems she had endured for several years. She finally got to walk the streets of gold, see her heavenly mansion and meet Jesus face to face.
She was born in Logansport to William Brummett and Marietta (Bolinger) Brummett on July 18, 1948. Penni married the love of her life Anthony (Tony) J Pigecella on June 11, 1988. Both resided in Delphi.
Penni was a cosmetologist shortly after high school, following her mother’s footsteps. She also worked as a florist and worked in some antique shops. She loved her antiques. Although she loved her jobs, once she became a mother, she gave her whole life to raising her children. She had always said her greatest accomplishment was her children!
Penni spent all her adult life loving Jesus. She always said there was nothing better than serving the Lord. She always prayed for people, taught people the word and led people to the Lord. That was her legacy.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Pigecella; her four children, Brukentta (Pooh) Lytle, Renyolds, Cynaka (Darren) Carr, Delphi, Nathan (Natasha) Arbuckle Bartow, Florida and Sharim (Caleb) Shields, Delphi, and Brooksville, Florida; as well as 17 grandchildren, Zack Geisler, Kelsey Broc, Caleb Geisler, Micah Geisler, Hannah Burich, Madison Porter, Jordan Carr, Mikyla Timmerman, Destyn Alberts, Skylynn Carr, Zayden Carr, Moxley Carr, Zaxtyn Carr, Malachi Arbuckle, Mykenzi Arbuckle, Ezekiel Shields, and Hadassah Shields; plus 19 great-grandchildren; several others who call her “Grammy;” and a few lifelong friends, Susie (Stair) Callahan and Judy Nulf.
She is dancing on the streets of gold with those who proceeded her in her passing: her parents; her son, Shadron Bassett; her daughter, Yentl Pigecella, and her brother. Kenneth Brummett.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 4 p.m. at Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home of Monticello. Pastor Julian Herrera and son-in-law Caleb Shields will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date.
Please consider donations to the family (Anthony) for a good cause to be determined. Share memories and condolences online at www.clapperfuneralservices.com.
