This was a tough one! LDN 1358 is a dark molecular cloud that requires a lot of integration time to reveal its delicate dust filaments.

Acquisition:

  • 16h 22m total (mix of 180s and 240s subs)
  • Filter: Optolong Clear
  • Bortle 4 (Aveyron, France)

Equipment:

  • Telescope: TS-ONTC 10" Hypergraph (f/3.4)
  • Camera: ZWO ASI2600MC DUO
  • Mount: SkyWatcher EQ8R-Pro

Processing: Stacked and processed in PixInsight. The main challenge was managing gradients while keeping the very faint dust structures intact. It reminds me a lot of Barnard 150!
