I have been fortune enough to receive a Telescope, and a book for Christmas…

Telescope looking out to the universe, and this book, looking into the universe.

Has anyone been exposed to the learnings of ‘Ernst Haeckel’ before? As I scroll through this amazing and beautiful book it begs the question of psychological, psychedelic, and raw beauty all as a cumbersome understanding of life itself.

Interesting nonetheless, it poises itself as an intermediary between small biology, and massive god like creation.

Just want to know some thoughts and feelings about it?

  1. I have not seen this book before, but it sounds like the concept of the microcosm vs. the macrocosm. The microcosm and macrocosm concepts are rooted in ancient Greek philosophy and have been explored in various philosophical systems worldwide. The microcosm represents the small order or the small universe, while the macrocosm represents the great order or the great universe. This analogy suggests that truths about the cosmos may be inferred from truths about human nature, and vice versa. The cosmos is often considered to be alive and to have a mind or soul, a position advanced by Plato in his Timaeus. This cosmic mind or soul was thought to be divine, and it was inferred that the human mind or soul was divine in nature as well. The analogy was also applied to human physiology, with the cosmological functions of the classical planets being analogous to the physiological functions of human organs.
