When I was a kid we had the 2017 eclipse coming up so I had those paper blackout sunglasses. I pointed my telescope at the sun and tried to look through the telescope only to have it instantly burn a hole through the glasses and singe my eyebrow. I was quite literally centimeters from being blind in one eye forever. Don’t be like me and use a PROPER sun filter
