
This is my third attempt at the andromeda galaxy untracked and at bortle 8, while better than the previous two attempts Im not too proud of it but given that I spent a lot of time and effort on this I figured I’d post it anyway.
Acquisition details
2060 x 4s subs over the course of 3 nights at f/2.8 and iso 800 with a canon nifty fifty lens and a canon EOS 7D
Weather conditions
All theee nights were moonless and clear with no clouds but there was a bit of smog and haze
Stacked 2060 out of 2217 subs in deepskystacker using default settings
Colour calibration, background extraction and crop in Siril
Final touches in adobe lightroom

Not a bad start! Siril is great for colour calibration, cropping and background extraction but I also recommend afterward that you use GraXpert for denoising and then GIMP for manual stretching, I’ve found it works really well in that order!
You stacked 93% of the best images you took, that’s too much, and I think that’s why there is lot of noise in your image try, 10% or 20% or 30%. You would get a better result
