This duality around this subject really bothers me. On the one hand, you have intelligence officers, scientists, military witnesses, pilots, etc., who claim that everything about this topic is real, and on the other hand, films are being made about it. Through films, the impression is created that the topic is merely fictional and not truly real. Moreover, this trailer is very one-sided and mostly plays on the emotions of fear and doubt (negative thoughts). The whole topic would take on a very dark character through this film, and I don’t really like that. Perhaps it is all just preparation for what awaits us in the near future. But perhaps it is also simply one of many more films that want to play with this fabulous imagination and human curiosity in order to make money.

Turbulent times…

I wonder if that’s what trump is going to announce tomorrow night.

Prediction markets are at 90% that trump will disclose. This usually means inside information. Take it with a grain of salt.

Whats the plot with this movie? I’ve watched the trailer and it looks like humans talking with native animal species?

This doesn’t happen to me that easily but the trailer made the hairs on my head and arms stand straight up. Perhaps the response wasn’t fear, so much as a feeling of deep unease, but this unsettling sensation, strangely, struck me as a deeply *familiar* one I did not know was there. I still can’t make sense of it exactly.

And perhaps it’s just part of the human nature that we can process and truly understand such things as aliens, better consciousness etc. best with the help of art. People have always created art about the topics that occupied them. Art, regardless of its form, has actually always had a very important significance in the spirit of the times of certain eras. Perhaps this really is part of our nature as human beings, to approach this topic in this way… I really have no idea—these are just my thoughts on it.

“But perhaps it is also simply one of many more films that want to play with this fabulous imagination and human curiosity in order to make money.” Genuinely, isn’t that what all films do? Or at least try to do?

It kind of looks like there’s some sort of technology to monitor humans through their conscious experience.  Maybe the others use the same approach.  Maybe the animals are watching because they’re controlled by various other groups.

Maybe because there are some saucers on the screen in the monitoring room, the human group is watching some of the abductees have their experience via their own eyes.  Maybe the tech to do that was recovered in crashes.

There is a profit motive for sure. Maybe this is part of disclosure or whatever.

But it’s also art. Spielberg wants to tell a story. He’s done space aliens already. A trailer needs to express some mystery and danger or else who cares? And if these movies are not good for the topic, well, it’s his art.

I REALLY hope this movie doesn’t leave the answer to ‘what are they?’ open-ended. We have enough of that crap in real life.

  9. One could say that the release of this movie is now ‘imminent”.

I’m looking forward to it but I doubt that it will bring anything new to the conversation. I will keep my expectations low and enjoy it for what it is, a work of fiction

  10. Stephen Spielberg made the movie he wanted to make.

He didn’t make a manifesto for ufo fanatics

    He didn’t make a documentary

He didn’t make a validation piece for conspiracy clowns

He made the movie he wanted to make and he doesn’t owe you or any of us anything.

If it’s already bothering you in December, perhaps you should stay inside and away from the internet until July.

  11. Let me guess, it will include coverage of Nimitz, Go Fast, Gimbal etc like every other documentary rehashing the same stuff over and over and over.

Birds are aliens. Bucks are earth-native. Blunt is a hybrid, the dude in the buck poster is 100% human.

  13. If I’m being honest I think this trailer is being discussed a little too seriously here. It’s just a movie. It looks cool.

Some of you have an almost religious approach to it.

It’s a movie by Spielberg about aliens. We’ve got a few of them already. It’s not gonna tear the earth open. Everyone calm down

  14. It’s so weird to me that anyone with a problem with the trailers or poster think Spielberg owes you anYTHING 😂

  15. I was hoping the film was going to be more about crash retrieval operations. With some secret government organizations political drama.

  16. I finally see the bird shape lol. Can’t wait! Looks like the kind of movie to scare me for a year or three

Man, some of y’all believe a little too hard sometimes lol

You’re seeing what you want to see. It’s just a movie.

  18. Didn’t Spielberg consult with Hynek, the world’s leading ufologist when he made close encounters and even had him cameo as himself in the movie

    Dude loves his UFO mythology
