SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Western Iowa Tech was poised to turn things around heading into Monday night.
The Comets had lost three straight games entering their contest with Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Things looked good early for WIT. as the Comets leapt out of the gates to a 15-5 lead.
However KCKCC would chip away throughout the half and after Ferdinand Agama would beat the halftime buzzer for 2 the Comet lead was just 2.
The two teams would go back and forth in the second half and would be tied up at 55 with under 20 seconds to go.
With less than 5 seconds left Anthony Leonard would hit a step-back shot for the Blue Devils to give them a 57-55 lead.
2.5 seconds remained for the Comets, but WIT was unable to get a shot off and KCKCC would win 57-55.
Western Iowa Tech now stands at 3-7 on the season. The Comets are back in action on Wednesday, December 10th when they travel to take on DMACC.
