For those who haven't heard about this case I quote Wikipedia out of laziness:
On September 16, 1994, there was a UFO sighting outside Ruwa, Zimbabwe. Sixty-two pupils at the Ariel School aged between six and twelve said that they saw one or more silver craft descend from the sky and land on a field near their school. Some of the children claimed that one or more creatures dressed all in black then approached and telepathically communicated a message with an environmental theme to them, frightening them and causing them to cry.
These children were interviewed shortly afterwards (here is my other post with the 15 min. video), wrote down what they had experienced and made drawings. Here are some of their drawings. Many of them can also be seen in the documentary.
When I look at this, I can think of two things could be true:
- They were influenced by the media (I'll explain why I think this is unlikely below).
- They really did see aliens. And their descriptions resemble the aliens depicted in the media because this image was influenced by actual sightings.
In the other post, a few arguments were made as to why none of this is real:
The children made it all up / were influenced by the news because there had been sightings in the days before.
Firstly, when I see the interviews, I personally don't believe that these children are lying.
Secondly, why do many of them describe the same thing but in different words? Why would they elaborate the story to the point of inventing telepathic messages? (They don't call it that, but that's exactly what they're describing). And then several of them at once? Why such strange details as a “flute” sound or men running “in slow motion”? How do you explain such details if everything is made up or they got it from the media? That's what makes it credible for me.
One of the children claims as an adult that it was all made up.
Fair point. BUT: On the other hand, there are many others who, even as adults, still claim that it all happened (interviews can be seen in the 2022 documentary “Ariel Phenomenon” by Randall Nickerson). Some of them even say that they have never talked about it before the documentary, not even with close friends or their partners. It makes no sense to me that they would make it all up and still stick to it 20 years later and make up such details.
I want to believe. But I'm also skeptical. So far, none of the arguments in the other post have convinced me. Please give me arguments that convince me that this is fake, because I don't think it is. This is real. Whatever they saw, it happened. And when I look at this drawings, I'm even more confused.
