I would say this is a much-needed break from politics. However, I would say that the vast majority of the so-called Evangelical community in the U.S. seem to support this type of theories. Nevertheless, it is a fascinating concept that has long existed in the so-called conservative wing of political groups. But this belief expressed by Vance is quite common in American Fundamentalist type of Christianity.
