FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Comet C/2025 A6, known as Lemmon, is rapidly approaching to be seen with the naked eye.
The comet is close to California and can be seen with binoculars or a telescope.
The best viewing window is from October until early November 2025, with peak visibility expected around October 20th and 21st.
For optimal viewing, head out after sunset and away from city lights.
The comet will appear under and to the left of the Big Dipper in the northwest sky.
It is also visible in the morning sky about 90 minutes before sunrise.
Astrophotography has captured Lemmon’s bluish-green head with two tails: a golden dust tail and a blue gas tail.
