James Fowler posted today he will be leaving Skywatcher to focus on other ventures. Interesting juncture in SW’s trajectory as he seemed to be the one bringing the knowledge and tech via his team. Hope to learn more about what this means for the work currently in progress.

Babbling to reach word count: James Fowler is the original founder of SW who spent 5 years doing UAP research before bringing on Jake Barber. Per Fowler, Barber brought piloting abilities that allowed the team to fly alongside UAP to gather data. Fowler also seems to be the at least one of the originators of SW’s taxonomy of UAP.

I watched 1 and 2, and it just doesn’t sit right with me. They couldn’t even crop the video right or provide 4k streams on YouTube in 2025. It’s as if they want to try but fail at the basics. People called it out in the comments on part1 already.

And we are all waiting to hear from Barber still ? Kinda feel like I should revisit the (debunked) anonymous SW comments from a few weeks ago about SW dissolving

  4. How are you both *Founder* and *Consultant*? lmao, skywatcher has been an incredible grift to watch turn back into dust in less than a year

    > “I am stepping away from active involvement with Skywatcher, with my contributions now limited to my foundational work.”

My interpretation of this is that it’s less of a loss and more of a natural transition for him. He describes his contributions as foundational, meaning his primary role was creating the enabling technology and systems that allow Skywatcher to collect UAP data. Since that groundwork is already done, the organization can carry on without needing his day-to-day involvement. To me, this looks less like a collapse and more like an architect moving on after the building is complete.
