COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) — Video from a doorbell camera has prompted online speculation that an "alien" was spotted in front of a Compton home.
The inscrutable footage shows an unknown figure apparently walking in front of the home at night. The timestamp on the video is shortly after 1 a.m. on July 5.
In an interview with the YouTube channel The Hidden Underbelly 2.0., the woman whose captured the video, Jessica Ortiz, said her camera spotted something moving through her yard. But the motion-sensor cameras outside the home did not detect anything.
"I asked my son to look at the video," Ortiz said in the interview. "I brought the phone and I was like 'Hey, double check this for me, what am I seeing?' and he saw the video like three times and he's like 'Mom it's an alien, call the cops.'"
Ortiz did not contact the police.
"It was scary," she said. "At that moment, I was like, What do I do? I was like, 'We're going to sound crazy calling the police, saying there's an alien in the backyard.'"
