Hmmm interested to see what any electrical engineers or people with physics knowledge have to say but count me as pretty skeptical. If this works why has no one done this before?

My ex FIL was working on free energy. He was brought here in the 80s on some visa from holland by the US government. He was a brilliant physicist, a member of MENSA.
He succumbed to schizophrenia in the late 90s. Started selling “moon rocks” on Ebay. He published his “work” with free energy online. He eventually committed suicide in 1999.
There was chatter in the old forums that the government killed him. I don’t think I believe it though. I saved the html web pages of his site with his free energy notes. They are on a disk somewhere.
Shitty part of it is, The site is down (of course) but I can’t find the archive of it. I have to go through all my old CDs to find it. Mainly so I can show my kid the only evidence I have that his grandfather was alive and was a brilliant person.
But his reactor or whatever was exactly this type of thing using magnets or some shit. But on a very large scale.

I firmly believe zero-point energy is possible.
That said, having scrubbed through this video my main question is: Why is there no AMP readout showing how much power this device is supposedly generating?
Surely the absolute rock bottom baseline for zero point energy claims is a basic power output measurement with visual proof that there are no wires/external power sources.

In my 20s I went through a free energy research phase and I took one thing from it all. Magnets are NOT a magical power source. They have “power” like a rock has “power” when it is lifted up – the power to fall down or in the case of a magnet – to attract to a metal or another magnet. When the fall has ended (magnet it stuck to something) the “power” is gone.
What neodymium magnet in a generator does is it spins with the rotor inside a copper wire winding (stator) and by this induces current in the windings. That’s an alternator (generator). You get 3 phase alternating current from the terminals of the stator windings. To make the rotor spin we need mechanical energy. Either wind blowing on blades or water falling through a turbine. You can also replace the magnet with and electromagnet so that you don’t have to spend money on rare earth metals, the principle is the same.
This guy proposes that electricity is made by not moving anything and just sitting idly in a brass tube. This does not happen. Props to the guy for showing us all of the details of the invention. He also talks about “phases” and has 6 + terminals and one – terminal. It’s mixing apples and oranges.
Note that the youtube video has 213 views so I kind of regret watching it and commenting.
I still believe in vacuum energy, element 115 (or a variation of it), but that physics is currently beyond humanity.

He turned off the comments. Why? Because this should be easy to reproduce and debunk and he doesn’t want to defend himself?
I can make a hypothesis as a non-scientist. We know the magnets inside are stationary. Magnets moved near copper will cause electrons to flow on the surface of copper, but these aren’t moving. No movement = no electricity.
Furthermore, the magnets would produce a static magnetic field. Copper doesn’t shield magnetic fields or electromagnetic fields. So the magnets would be unaffected by the copper tube or the caps at the end. The coil around the outside would be excited if the magnets were *moving,* but they aren’t. So the magnets will have no effect on the coils, and the tube and coils will have no effect on the magnets.
That’s just my hypothesis. The part about the grounding loop on the back of the device is worse. It wouldn’t dissipate heat from the magnets. The magnets wouldn’t get hot. In interactions between copper and magnets, the copper gets hot (when the magnets move their static field through the copper, and again, these aren’t moving). Even if the magnets did get hot, there are better ways of dissipating heat than a single wire. And the vague statement about draining away excess electrons is bogus. You wouldn’t have excess electrons. The energy produced goes to the item that is drawing current. Look up any experiment with passing a magnet through a coil and you can see the travel speed through the coil is a factor of the resistance of the circuit.

It seems he doesn’t activate it during the video or is he implying the generator is running while he’s touching pieces of it, voltmeter on the outputs and powering a dummy load would help.
