RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Christian volleyball players got to learn the game from a hall of fame coach this week. West Texas A&M head coach Terry Gamble and his staff led a two day camp for Comet players.
The three time junior college national champion has known Comets volleyball coach Krystal Weber for many years. Weber extended the invite for Gamble and his coaches to come to Rapid City this summer.
Gamble says many of the of things he taught at the camp are the same things he teaches his own players.
“I think it’s the same for any level, like with my team and these guys, all the fundamentals,” Gamble says. “I think if you’re really good at the fundamentals, you’re going to be really good at the game. And then to learn the game, your improving the IQ of the game, improving your knowledge of the game, I think helps you become a lot better.”
This was Gamble’s first time in Rapid City. He says he enjoyed the area and people, and hopes to come back for another camp next year.
