NASA astronaut and U.S. Navy Capt. Victor J. Glover, of California, autographs a jacket for a Sailor during his visit aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), June 4, 2026. Glover was the pilot on NASA’s Artemis II mission, which sent four astronauts on a flight around the moon in the Orion space craft, marking the first time humans journeyed to deep space in more than 50 years. Carl Vinson is undergoing scheduled maintenance in its homeport of San Diego while remaining a combat-ready force dedicated to protecting and defending the United States.
