Is history only written by the pens of the winners? That pen is dipped directly into the ashes of the losers to spill onto the paper.
The biggest mistake we make today when reading events is viewing history merely as a sequence of occurrences. We must rescue history from those overly ornate and complex academic texts and translate it into real analyses. Describing what happened might be the historian's job, and understanding how it happened might be the sociologist's. But the question of why always leads us straight to the center of power.
