The Greenville High School baseball Comets hosted Pana Friday afternoon and beat the Panthers 6-1 to remain in first place in the South Central Conference.

The Comets are 6-0 in league play with three SCC games remaining.

Drake Curry pitched a complete game against Pana and struck out eight batters.

On offense, Rowdy Sussenbach had two hits, Dominic Sanchez, a hit and two runs batted in; Curry, a double and an RBI; and Drake Graber, Dayton Oliver and Cannon Hamel also hit safely.

Coach Todd Hutchinson said Austin Swalley made several key defensive plays.

The win was the 15th of the season out of 21 games played.  The varsity Comets are at home Thursday against Altamont and host Southwestern Friday.
