Star Wars is a series full of hope, heroics and charm but the galaxy far, far away also hides horror beyond our comprehension making it an excellent setting for a horror game.

There’s endless potential to make Star Wars scary and yet no filmmaker has dared to try, yet.

We’ve had snippets here and there though and when a writer needs a foreboding presence to send a chill down our spines, they usually land on one character in particular…Darth Vader.

If you’ve ever wanted to feel what it’s like to have a 6’8 war criminal chasing you without a lightsaber or the force at your side, keep reading.

Darth Vader But Make Him The Xenomorph From Alien: Isolation

When you see characters like Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi bravely do battle against the charred remains of a once great Jedi, it’s easy to forget that Darth Vader is utterly terrifying.

The end of Star Wars: Rogue One sees him emerge from the darkness before tearing his way through a Rebel ship. He even turned off all the lights on his suit for a dramatic entrance.

‘Escape From Vader’ obviously takes a lot of inspiration from that scene, and is a new four-player co-op title that’s free-to-play on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.

It was released as part of Fortnite’s new Star Wars collaboration and was made by fans prior to being featured amongst the other festivities.

Players find themselves aboard an Imperial ship completing various missions all while being hunted by the Sith Lord himself.

If you’ve ever played Alien: Isolation, it’s basically that but with a Star Wars skin, and if you haven’t played Alien: Isolation, I’d get to it if I were you as a sequel is on the way.

Back to ‘Escape From Vader’ though, it’s frankly horrifying to have a character like Darth Vader stalking you when you’re not trained in the art of the Jedi.

Fortnite-Epic Games

This game mode is free for all players on PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms and if you’d like to try it for yourself, all you need is the map code. Just input 7285-4185-5428 and you’ll be good to go.

While the Fortnite collaborations are ace, we’d love to see this concept get picked up by a AAA studio and turned into a fully-fledged release.

Something akin to Dead By Daylight would be good fun, but it’s rumoured a Star Wars character could find their way into that multiplayer survival game sometime in the future.

Fortnite Is Currently Offering Loads Of Free Star Wars Games

Star Wars Day is quickly approaching and ‘Escape From Vader’ isn’t the only game mode players can jump into.

Today, loads of new freebies were released from Star Wars Battlefront alternatives to Jedi roguelike experiences.

There’s loads to enjoy and most of it is available already with a brief roadmap of content scheduled for the rest of the month.
