The BFA-St. Albans Comet tennis team played Montpelier in Montpelier on Tuesday, April 28, losing 6-1.
Lily Routhier had our only victory with a 5-3 ret. from the opponent to give us a win. Kaylah Holsopple had a close match with a 1-6,3-6 loss with many games going to deuce.
On Thursday, we played Middlebury at home and lost 7-0. Middlebury came in with a strong team this year, but Tessa Rocheleau fought hard in the first set, almost getting the win, but lost 5-7; in the second set, with games going to the deciding point, she lost 6-1. Again, Lily Routhier is competing strongly, just missing the victory by a 6-3,6-2 loss. The next hard-fought match was the second doubles team of Morgan Barnett and Sara Golden with a 6-3,6-2 loss.
Delia Branon had a great first match at singles, which shows advancement in her skills and a promising future for the team.
