European Ariane 6 Rocket Launched Carrying 32 Satellites into Space
Paris, April 30 (QNA) – The European Space Agency (ESA) has announced the launch of the Ariane 6 rocket today, carrying 32 satellites for the Amazon Leo satellite internet constellation.
The European launch services company Arianespace explained that the Ariane 6 rocket, in its most powerful and enhanced version, launched from the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, South America.
It added that it plans to conduct 18 launches for Amazon Leo, noting that this constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit is designed to provide fast and reliable internet access to customers and areas that are not yet connected to existing networks.
To achieve this, Amazon is deploying thousands of satellites linked by a global network of antennas, fiber optics, and ground-based internet access points.
Amazon Leo, whose deployment has been delayed, aims to reach 3,200 satellites in the first phase. (QNA)
