U.S. President Donald Trump has said his administration will soon release a large batch of government files related to UFOs and other unidentified aerial phenomena, stating that the information could be “very interesting” to the public.
Speaking during a White House event with the crew of NASA’s Artemis II mission on April 29, Trump said he had spoken with people who claimed to have witnessed “things you wouldn’t believe.” He added that the long-standing public curiosity around UFOs made the upcoming disclosures significant.
Earlier this month, at a political rally in Phoenix organized by Turning Point USA, Trump said a Pentagon review he ordered had uncovered “many very interesting documents.” He also said the first releases would begin “very, very soon,” covering UFOs, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and possible extraterrestrial-related information.
The move follows his February order directing the Pentagon and other U.S. agencies to declassify records on UFOs, after renewed public debate sparked in part by comments from former President Barack Obama, who said he believed in the possibility of alien life but had not seen evidence during his time in office.
