A trip to Litchfield Tuesday afternoon was a successful one for the Greenville High School varsity softball team.

The Lady Comets rolled to an 11-1 win over the Purple Panthers in five innings.

Payton White was the winning pitcher, striking out four batters.

The winning squad banged out 10 hits.  Haylee Clark has three of them, including two doubles.  Jana Glisson and Ava Potthast posted two hits apiece.

The win gave the Lady Comets a 5-1 South Central Conference record and an overall 17-4 mark.  They host Pana on Friday and play at Carlinville Monday.
