Xjenza Malta is hosting the ESA Industry Days 2026 from the 22nd to the 24th of April, an event organised in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). This initiative brought together key stakeholders to promote international cooperation and strengthen strategic partnerships within the European space sector.

The main conference, taking place between the 23rd and 24th of April at the Phoenicia Hotel, is bringing together delegations from over nine ESA PECS and Associate Member States. The program includes presentations and discussions on topics relevant to ESA, the industry and international partners, with a particular focus on Cooperating and Associate Member States.

Participation spanned government entities, industry leaders, SMEs, startups and research institutions, ensuring broad representation across the space ecosystem.

Nine Maltese private companies actively participated, reflecting Malta’s growing involvement in this sector. Company presentations were delivered by representatives from Malta, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Cyprus, Croatia, and Bulgaria, showcasing a wide range of expertise and innovation. During the conference, the Malta Space Park project was also presented, receiving highly positive feedback from the European community.

In his speech, Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti emphasised Malta’s commitment to this strategic field, “The organisation of the ESA Industry Days 2026 reflects Malta’s growing commitment to the space sector and its role as a collaborative and forward-looking partner in the European space ecosystem. Malta is determined to strengthen its role in research and economic development in this field.”

“This event is a testament to the progress achieved in profiling Malta as an emerging player. The ongoing implementation of Malta’s first National Space Strategy 2022–2027 is yielding tangible results with increased international collaborations through the PECS arrangement with ESA and bilaterally with like-minded EU Member State space agencies,” added by Omar Cutajar, Senior Director at Xjenza Malta.

During the opening of the conference, Dr Jennifer Ngo-Anh from the European Space Agency stated, “We look forward to the conversations and collaborations that will emerge from the activities of this event. Together, let us build a stronger, more connected and more innovative European space community.”

The event saw strong international participation, raising Malta’s profile in the European space sector while strengthening ties between local stakeholders and international partners.

During the ESA Industry Days 2026, a series of ancillary networking events is taking place, providing new opportunities to access networks and European funding while reaffirming the Government’s commitment to growth in high-value sectors.
