JJ Stec had 20 kills to pace unbeaten Crestwood to a three-set sweep of host Blue Ridge in non-conference boys’ volleyball on Monday. Game scores were 25-21, 25-9, 25-19.

Stec added six blocks to his kill total. Zack Koons had 34 assists and 21 points, and Luke Joseph finished with 25 digs, seven points and four aces.

Deven Paulson contributed six points, 10 digs and two aces, and Larry Little had seven kills and eight digs.

Panther Valley 16, Executive Education 0

In Summit Hill, the Lady Panthers (4-4) scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning and 10 more in the third to make short work of Executive Education Academy Charter in a non-league game.

Jovie Breiner rapped two triples, scored twice and knocked in another three to lead the PV assault. Isabella D’Ancona continued to swing a hot bat with a double and single and she also scored four times and had four RBI. Danika Blazosky added a double, single, three runs and two RBI; Megan O’Brien hit a double and single and scored twice; Ava Alabovitz singled twice and Caroline Breslin chipped in a double.

Panther Valley’s Janessa Prudente (five strikeouts, no walks) and Kathryn Breslin combined on a one-hitter. N. Diaz Cabrera singled for the Raptors’ only base hit.

Hamburg 10, Tamaqua 6

Brianna Mengel cracked a home run and single and dove in a game-high four RBI to propel the Lady Hawks to the non-league win.

Norah Davey contributed a triple and single, scored four runs and had two RBI and Mackenzie Hoover added a solo home run for Hamburg (14-1).

For the Lady Raiders (7-5), Naomi Knitter poked two singles and Molly Evans and Ceanna Gormley both doubled.

The Lady Hawks jumped to a 5-0 lead and hardly looked back. Tamaqua pulled within 5-2, but Hamburg’s four-run rally in the middle of the game gave the winners the cushion they needed to offset the Lady Raiders’ own four-run inning.

South Williamsport 8, North Schuylkill 7

After North Schuylkill was held to one over the first six innings, Stephen Minahan’s seventh-inning grand slam highlighted a six-run rally that gave the Spartans a 7-4 lead.

However, the Mounties (5-3) rallied for four runs in the home seventh to pull out the non-league victory. Levi Butler delivered the walk-off hit.

Minahan earlier doubled to go with his late blast for North Schuylkill, which managed only four base hits but took advantage of eight walks. Chase Slotcavage and Mark Monahan added singles for the Spartans (6-3).

Butler finished with two singles for South Williamsport. Kamdyn Bubb helped with a home run and he also reached base in the decisive rally, as did Trace Wertz and Andrew Walter.

Joey Groody, the third of three Spartan pitchers, was tagged with the loss.
