Parker Zimpleman went 3 for 4 with 9 RBIs as the host Comets trounced sectional rival West Central Monday, 19-7.

Zimpleman, a sophomore third baseman, had a three-run double in the first, a two-run homer in the second and a grand slam in the fourth. The homers were the first two of his varsity career.

Tucker Woolever went 3 for 4 with an RBI, and Eli Holloway singled and had three RBIs.

Brodie Howard got the win on the mound, allowing two unearned runs in three innings. He walked four and fanned four. He also had a single and a triple and an RBI at the plate. Lucius Edson, Logan Mollenkopf and London Herd added one RBI each.

Gavin Mollenkopf doubled, walked twice and scored three times. Carson Harness doubled and walked twice and scored a run.

Seven of Caston’s 12 hits went for extra bases. Meanwhile, West Central had no extra-base hits.

Herd pitched the fourth. Zimpleman needed to throw just seven pitches to get the final three outs.

The teams combined for 18 walks, three hit batters and three wild pitches.

Caston scored six runs in the first and never trailed. They scored in all four innings in which they batted.
