Baseball Comets Fall At Civic Memorial

The Greenville High School varsity baseball Comets were edged Tuesday at Bethalto against Civic Memorial.

The Eagles scored a late run to edge the Comets 3-2.

On offense for GHS, Christian Swalley delivered two hits and Cannon Hamel and Dominic Sanchez had one apiece.

Pitching for the Comets were Rowdy Sussenbach, Dayton Oliver and Drake Curry.  They gave up five hits and struck out five batters.

The Comets had a 4-5 record after the defeat.  They host Nokomis Thursday, play at Staunton Friday, and have a home contest Monday against Mater Dei.
