The video gives an excellent visual representation and articulates the realistic (?) math applied in the movie. If close to speed of light travel is possible, then due to time dilation effects, traveling to the edge of the visible universe would only take about 30 1/2 years; however, 4 1/2 billion years would pass on Earth during the trip.
My take: assuming non local communication, a signal indicating that life was emerging on Earth should result in visits from the farthest edges of the universe right about now.
Sounds legit.

Submission statement: due to the effects of time, dilation, close to speed of light travel across the universe can be accomplished in a lifetime. To the rest of the universe it’s about a billion lifetimes.
Could this be why we see an uptick in activity? Are “Others” simply arriving now?
