This is my first try at the North American nebula. This was captured in my backyard with bortle 7 skies so not great conditions. I used the astronomik UHC filter to try to isolate the nebulae more.

    Gear:

    Camera: unmodified canon eos 1200D

Lens: vintage asahi pentax 200mm lens f/4

    Filter: Astronomik clip-in UHC filter

    Mount: Star adventurer 1

    Acquisition:

    70 x 120s lights

    25 flats and biases

    Processing:

Still working on this but this is my current routine

    Software: Siril + GraXpert

    Manually stacked in Siril

Background extraction done to all lights before stacking

plate solving + spectrophotometry to get rid of green hue from UHC filter

    Star removal

    Denoising in GraXpert

    Stretching in Siril

Stretching and saturation fix in stars (my lens causes a lot of chromatic aberration so this part sucks)

    Star recomposition

Further stretching to tweak minor things

Veralux Vectra script is good for shifting the hues of the color palette to try to isolate the blue in the nebulae

Cosmic clarity sharpness script in Siril is good for trying to get small details and sharpening stars

Any feed back is of course appreciated
