In what is believed to be the best start in Greenville High School softball history, the Lady Comets improved their record to 10-0 with a 17-1 win over Vandalia Monday.

The game lasted only four innings with Ava Potthast earning the pitching decision.  She struck out 10 batters.

Haylee Clark had a three-for-four game with a home run and four runs batted in.

Potthast also had three hits plus three RBIs.  Other Lady Comets hitting safely included Payton White, Zoee Englert and Clare Glisson.

GHS hosted Teutopolis on Tuesday and plays at Ramsey Thursday.
