War, cruelty, violence, and greed may be reasons advanced, interstellar civilizations would choose to remain benign observers rather than interact. There could even be principles or constraints, formal or otherwise, that discourage interference with developing life. That might explain why we’re still here and why there’s no clear evidence of any alien meddling on Earth.

We also kill each other in order to hoard resources beyond what we could ever use or need, while others suffer.

A handful of selfish idiots waste the spiritual balance and life of earth. Aliens might be disappointed in the rulers of major governments but Mankind as a hole know better.

Without reading the article I feel like that’s a pretty obvious assumption. Although I bet those same aliens could look back thousands of years into their history and they’d find a lot of similarities to whatever we are now.

1. Survive
2. Procreate
That’s it. And Nature actually only gives a fuck about survival, so that you’ll have the **opportunity** to procreate. Otherwise, it wouldn’t even give a fuck about you surviving.
Wars happen because the more resources a human (male) controls, the more this person gets to do Number 2. Procreation.
You look at people like Zuckerberg, Musk, Bezos, etc, all are driven at a subconscious level to want sex, and somewhere along the line they got the idea that if they’re extremely successful, they’ll have a much easier time at procreation.
Everything comes back to those two base desires, and any intelligent species studying us would know this pretty fucking quickly
