Why do ancient records (Sumerian King List, Egyptian Texts, Biblical Methuselah) claim humans once lived for nearly 1,000 years?

Evidence suggests Earth once had a Water Canopy—a dense vapor layer in the upper atmosphere. This created a Hyperbaric Earth

Radiation Shield: Blocked DNA-damaging cosmic rays, slowing cellular aging to a crawl.

High Atmospheric Pressure: Doubled current levels, saturating the blood with oxygen (like modern hyperbaric chambers) for instant healing.

The Collapse: The "Great Flood" wasn't just water; it was the collapse of this physical shield.

Once the canopy fell, oxygen levels dropped, cosmic rays hit our DNA, and the "Silent Execution" of aging accelerated. Are these giant stone jars (see images) artifacts of a high-pressure, giant-human era?

Let’s discuss the physics of a lost atmosphere.

Ancient records also claim gods had animal heads, there were dragons, and giants were around.

Ancient records are full of myths, because back then they were indistinguishable from history (there’s a reason we can identify “the father of history”, and even he included some myths). Just because people say it happened, doesn’t mean it did

Arn’t there myths about the fresh water that fell from the sky? This also reminds me of the purple cocoon legends from the ancient Golden Age.

Gezz, tough crowd. Alternatehistory, conspiracy, and similar subs are now full of cynical people pointing there cynicism at any idea they dislike.

This is a pretty i teresting theory. Sounds like a compelling theory to look into. Do youbhave any sources that inspired or build on the idea?

  4. Cool idea. I hate the discouragement of people, just for thinking outside the box. Even if a theory seems crazy it can expand the imagination and a person’s thoughts possibly leading to the truth. There was a time when someone was called crazy just for thinking about the possibility of human flight. This post shouldn’t be receiving a thumbs down, you don’t have to give it a thumbs up. But its just an idea.

Interesting theory, how could it work? What are they physics involved in a planet like ours suspending a dense water canopy high in our atmosphere?

How does this theory possibly work? We have a fossi and bone l record going back millions of years.

Just to add to your theory, let’s say this is true. Wouldn’t it be wild if the “arrival” of an artificial moon was the cause of this so-called layer of water dissipating into a global flood?

    Stupid because

    A. There have been no recovered hominid remains during the period thats plausibly described and

    B. anyone who wrote such records was a wealthy sheep herder who could afford paper and was ignorant of germ theory

now explain why we have wisdom teeth and those are the only two sets of teeth we get. Because at the age you get those you’d historically have gone through your first set of teeth and needed whatever little you could get back in the end of your life (which was as early as teenage years and definitely 20s) before you died

  10. The texts you mentioned don’t say that humans lived 1k years+.

They say some godlike humans did, such as Gilgamesh.

If your theory were true, it would have been all humans, not some.

Why did mythological lists have characters that lived long lives?

Because people told each other stories and made shit up.

So many of these wild ideas spring from the assumption that ancient people were dead serious, literal, and accurate at all times.

I haven’t read the entire bible and I it’s been awhile. But weren’t some of the “characters” in it hundreds of years old?

  13. Interesting idea. Cultures all over the world all have Great Flood stories not just the Bible. But the people alive under the canopy would have to tolerate not only the high pressure but also the high temperatures. Water vapor in the atmosphere is the number one greenhouse house gas. More of it would trap more heat. The planet was a lot hotter and wetter in the past. This is supported by fossil records.

  14. I remember reading somewhere about tales of ancient African tribes. When they spoke of times that there was no moon. The air was thick with water, like a constant fog. Night was pure darkness and the sky was filled with beautiful colors, I guess rainbows, during day
