This poor woman. I was sexually assaulted as a child for a few years and it really really harms your mental health for years and years to come. I am forty years old and only just now beginning to heal, I think my brain needed maturity and time to be able to cope and process. I dealt with a number of mental health issues / substance abuse issues as a younger person and was diagnosed with ptsd at the age of 30, all due to repercussions of the sexual assault. Experiencing such trauma during the time when your brain is developing is horrific and I am proud of this woman for sharing her experience and being so brave. May she find peace in the next phase of being.
