SCENE: After casting his vote on the floor of the US House of Representatives, Rep. Eric Burlison’s walking back to his office across the street when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches up with him.
Matt Laslo: “And now, NDAA season’s coming — do you think there might be more support for something like the UAP Disclosure Act this time around?”
Rep. Eric Burlison: “I do.”
ML: “Are you planning to offer it?”
EB: “The time that I spent talking to these committee chairs in both the House and Senate has at least loosened the soil. So I think that’ll give me an opportunity — when I go back and have the conversation, it’s not going to be a fresh topic to them.”
ML: “Especially now with the White House on board, you’re seeing…?”
EB: “Yes. What we’re trying to do right now is I’m trying to work with the White House on the language and say: look, based on what you’re planning to do — does this dovetail in with your goals for release, and what kind of real mechanisms do we need to put in place to operationalize this disclosure?”
ML: “And have you talked with UAP Disclosure Act sponsors Sens. Rounds and Schumer yet — or too early for that?”
EB: “No. Thank you.”
ML: “Preciate ya.”

\apologies for confusion I sowed with yesterday’s Jim Himes post — totally forgot to include the full transcript with the Audiogram Short. Kicking myself for the mistake, fam.*
As I tell my students, mistakes happen. Once. Never again. Will do better.

Full disclosure: After months of being waitlisted, I’m now a part of Reddit’s Contributor Program (i think — it’s green AF). And my interactive political journalism startup, Ask a Pol, is now enrolled in Reddit Pro (beta).
Combined, my inaugural estimated payout is $6.35 (“Earn a minimum of $10 and 100 karma to be eligible to receive a payout”). Any others enrolled? Doesn’t quite seem ready for primetime yet…
