US lawmakers have set a strict deadline for federal agencies to hand over secret videos of unidentified aerial objects (UFOs/UAPs), warning that these objects could threaten US forces.
Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote a letter to U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, requesting 46 specific videos of Unidentified Anomaly Phenomena (UAP), with a deadline of April 14, 2026.
The requested videos include numerous military-recorded encounters with spherical, cigarette-shaped, or Tic Tac-like objects, captured over war zones, oceans, and sensitive airspace around the world. Some clips reportedly show UAV formations near Iran and Syria, incidents near U.S. bases and airports, and even a crash over Lake Huron in 2023.
Lawmakers hope these videos can reveal patterns of activity near sensitive military facilities and help determine whether these facilities pose a risk to national security.
‘The lack of transparency about the very real threat posed by UAPs in and around US restricted airspace is concerning,’ Luna said. ‘The presence of UAPs near military bases and sensitive areas poses a threat to the security and readiness of the armed forces.’

Luna heads the House Federal Secrets Task Force, which focuses on investigating UAPs, declassifying federal documents, and protecting whistleblowers.
The risks are not just related to mysterious sightings; they also include the possibility that these objects could conduct surveillance, test American defenses, or interfere with air operations, raising concerns about pilot safety and national preparedness.
The requested videos show spherical objects moving through clouds, hovering over open water and appearing near US ships and submarines. Some were captured by fighter jets, surveillance planes and drones in the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan and the East China Sea.
In some cases, more than one object has been tracked simultaneously at high speed, raising concerns about possible coordinated activity near sensitive military operations.
Luna’s deadline came after former President Donald Trump’s order for the release of all government documents related to UAPs and extraterrestrial life on February 19.
Secretary Hegseth has promised that the War Department will fully implement presidential orders, reviewing all videos and information related to these unidentified aerial phenomena.
He added: ‘We will see if there are extraterrestrials. I will do the review and find out together with you.’ /GazetaExpress/
