like everyone I talk to now just accepts that they exist. it's kind of shocking to me because a few years ago they would have called me crazy. now they're all just "like,yeah they exist. anyways let's get starbucks." LIKE WTF. THATS AWESOME!

I think the acceptance is that they exist somewhere because of how big the universe is. I think uncertainty comes when I tell you they are watching you right now within a different dimension that you are unable to detect with your limited human senses.
Humanity is aware of the concept, I wouldn’t say there is collective agreement on the actual existence of NHI though.

I dont think its the “If ther real or not part” its the “what are they? and the what do they want if anything part?” they will be questioned hard about afterwards that they may not want to conceal to us possibly because it could be like telling your child that you cant protect them from all the monsters under ther bed or in their closet at night.
It is statistically IMPOSSIBLE for it to just be us in the universe. Life in our solar system is even possible, let alone other systems/galaxies

We’ve had years of conditioning with programs like ancient aliens and the plethora of documentaries that have been aired over the years. I don’t think that as a whole we’ve accepted it but sure as hell the majority has. It’s just called broadening your horizons.
