NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope is showing off its capabilities closer to home with its first image of Neptune. Not only has Webb captured the clearest view of this peculiar planet's rings in more than 30 years, but its cameras are also revealing the ice giant in a whole new light.

  1. The JWST has been our best move for space exploration in the last 20 years. Looking forward to what it reveals on the atmosphere of exoplanets

Admittedly I don’t know much about how the JSWT works but I didn’t know it could get pictures of such a close object. I falsely assumed it was built in a way that could only look into deep space very narrowly. Amazing to see this!

  3. Seriously every image that comes out from the JWST is incredible. I just want more and more! Also, sorry if this is a dumb question, what’s that bright blue-green star in the background?
