Anthony Chavez, 78, retired LANL employee. Vanished May 2025 from Los Alamos. Wallet, keys, cigarettes on the table. No cell phone. Cadaver dogs negative. Detective: “It was just like he left.” Never found. This is the third NM corridor disappearance with an identical physical signature.

Melissa Casias (LANL, June 2025): both phones factory-reset, seen staggering on surveillance footage carrying a backpack, never found.

William McCasland (former AFRL Commander, February 2026): phone and glasses left, red backpack missing, nobody witnessed his departure, never found.

[All three within a hundred miles of each other. Same empty rooms. Same negative searches. Same result.](https://thesentinel.network/p/the-blind-spot-rocks-are-falling?r=71h4we)

What’s the baseline chance of someone 70+ disappearing to commit suicide? I know it’s higher than we expect but this seems excessive even for that age range.

The Melissa Casias detail that doesn’t get enough attention: both phones factory-reset before she vanished. That’s not panic. That’s procedure. Someone knew what they were doing, or she did. Either answer is disturbing. The staggering on surveillance could be a lot of things, but combined with the reset phones and the backpack, it reads like a departure that was prepared for her.

If its 3 or 4 people of any other group in any other setting found so close together, then investigators would flag this as suspicious and leave it on the table until proven otherwise. They would continue to investigate.

What are we getting from news outlets or investigators in regards to these events? I’m not seeing anything, which doesnt surprise me given the new landscape for reporting the news.
