Daoko will digitally release her new song “COMIT COMET” on April 12, 2026. The track has been selected as the opening theme for the TV anime Yowayowa Sensei, which begins airing in April 2026.

The original manga is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. A hugely popular romantic comedy, it follows Hiyori Hiwamura, a timid and somewhat unreliable new English teacher. Though weak and meek in both appearance and personality, she is mistakenly feared by her students as a scary teacher. Supported by her student Abikura, she gradually grows into her role. Despite being at the mercy of her students, she faces them earnestly, gradually building bonds of trust in a story full of humor.
The song is composed and arranged by Hideya Kojima, who has worked on numerous Daoko tracks, including “ShibuyaK” and “Moshimo Bokura ga GAME no Shuyaku de.” Blending strong Shibuya-kei influences from the ’90s and 2000s with elements of contemporary overseas funk, the track is described as Daoko’s grooviest and cutest to date. A preview of “COMIT COMET” can be heard in the newly released main promotional video for Yowayowa Sensei.
Comment from Daoko:
While working on the song, I read the original manga and found myself charmed by the cuteness and earnestness of Yowayowa-sensei (Hiyori Hiwamura). I wanted to express that feeling by likening it to the stars, so I teamed up with Hideya Kojima and poured everything into creating a full-on pop track. The result is a “star-core” anisong we’re really proud of
I’m already looking forward to seeing all the different sides of Yowayowa-sensei brought to life in the anime.
